Education staff in Moray have shaved their heads in solidarity with a colleague who is battling cancer.
Sarah Marshall, who works as an ASN (additional support needs) manager, was diagnosed with the disease in January.
The education worker faces repeated bouts of chemotherapy treatment over the coming months, which will cause hair loss.
Ahead of the battle, her spirits have been lifted by colleagues Catherine Ogilvie-Richards and Helena Jones, who are both ASN support officers, deciding to shave their heads too.
The education workers have opted to go bald to raise money for Clan Cancer Support as a sign of support for their friend.
The trio got their crew cuts together at Elgin’s Istanbul Barbers, who sheared their heads for free to back the fundraising effort.
Mrs Marshall, who joined the council last year, said the gesture from her fellow education staff has given her a boost in her battle to fight the disease.
She said: “My colleagues quickly responded with practical and emotional support which made all the difference to me at this time.
“My chemotherapy treatment over the next few months will see hair loss on top of other side effects.
“This gesture by Helena and Catherine to join with me in my head shaving is beyond words.”
ASN staff support children in schools who have disabilities, are in care, have English as a second language, are particularly talented or have emotional issues.
