Police in Forres are appealing for information following a theft by housebreaking from a property on South Street.
The incident is thought to have occurred sometime between Friday and Saturday last weekend. As a result, jewellery valued at a four figure sum was stolen.
Investigating Officer PC Will Dow said: “Although the house was unoccupied at the time of the break-in the incident has obviously upset the owner, with a number of items of sentimental value being taken.
“I’m appealing for information from anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area last Friday night or Saturday.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 3550 of 12 May. Information can also be given anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
