Police in Moray are appealing for information after reports of a 21-year-old man being assaulted.
The man sustained injuries to his hands and face in the early hours of Sunday morning after leaving a licensed premises in the Church Road area shortly after midnight.
He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Sergeant Neil Morrison, of the divisional alcohol violence reduction unit, said: “It is crucial we establish the exact circumstances that led to this man being injured and would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Mid Street, Coopers Lane, Drum Road or Moss Street that night to come forward if they think they have information which could help.
“Extensive inquiries have been ongoing since we received this report which includes speaking to people who live in the local area.
“The town centre will have been busy with people who might not necessarily live nearby though so I would ask anyone who hasn’t spoken to police to come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 101.”
