Police are appealing to trace the driver of a red Suzuki Swift following reports that a man approached a group of primary school age children in rural Speyside.
The incident happened at around 1.20pm on Sunday in Edinvillie, near Aberlour.
The man has been described as slim with grey hair and was wearing round glasses. He also had a small dog in the car.
Detective Sergeant Andy Wilson said: “We would like to trace the driver of the red Suzuki Swift as he may be able to assist us with our enquiries to establish the full circumstances.
“The vehicle was seen driving on the unclassified road between the A95 and B9009, passing the Benrinnes Distillery and turning at Shenval Cattery, where it was lost to view.
“Along this road, the red Suzuki Swift would have passed a number of vintage vehicles travelling in the opposite direction from a Vintage Car Rally that was being held at Balindalloch Castle.
“This also leads me to appeal for any drivers or passengers of the vintage cars to get in touch if they recall seeing a red Suzuki Swift that day, or indeed if any of the drivers have dashcam or video footage that we could review to help identify the vehicle.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact police on 101.
