Emergency services are in attendance at a gorse fire at Clasahach Quarry.
The call came in from the area to the east of Hopeman in Moray at around 3.30pm.
The fire services has sent units from Elgin, Forres, Aberlour and Nairn to the scene. Four fire appliances were dispatched to the scene with a forestry unit from Elgin and a Welfare Unit from Huntly.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “There are no reporters of any injuries at the moment, we are just on scene tackling the fire.”
Road closures have been put in place at Hopeman Golf Club to Gordounston and Lossiemouth to Silver Sands.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland are currently assisting Scottish Fire and Rescue at the report of a fire at Clashach Quarry.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area whilst emergency services are dealing with the situation.”
Five police units are on hand to help motorists with diversions.
