Electrical items worth more than £1,000 have been stolen from a house in the Darnaway area of Forres.
Officers are appealing for information following the theft by housebreaking which took place at around 5.30pm yesterday.
Police are interested in speaking to a man driving a black Vauxhall Vectra who was seen in the area at the time.
Investigating officer PC Lisa Gauld said: “This happened during daylight hours and we are extremely keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this incident.
“We are particularly interested in speaking to a man seen in the area at the time who was driving a black Vauxhall Vectra. He may have valuable information that could assist our enquiries.
“It is understood the vehicle was driven east on the A96 towards Forres.
“If anyone has information that could assist us with this investigation I would ask that they contact police on 101 quoting reference 3780 of 14 June.”
