A group of young carers visited a rescue station as part of a programme of summer activities set up for them by a charity.
Quarriers is a leading social care charity and organised the trip to RNLI Buckie Lifeboat Station on Thursday July 12.
While there, the twelve youngsters were given a personal tour of the base and shown a vessel by the welcoming crew.
They were then taught about the inner-workings of the vital service and the roles played by the volunteers who serve there.
As it was a training evening, the young carers, ranging from nine to 16 years old, got the chance to chat with the crew as well as the opportunity to try on some of the gear including life-vests.
The visit was part of the fifth annual Summer Appeal from Quarriers which aims to provide a chance for youngsters who have care responsibilities to put aside their worries and enjoy a day off to make new friends and have fun.
There are several events planned throughout the rest of the summer in Moray, including trips to the seaside, picnics, the cinema and harbour walks.
Sandi Downing, project manager at Quarriers Carer Support Service (Moray) believes that the trips make a huge difference in the lives of the youngsters.
She said: “Young carers supported by this service often take on responsibilities and concerns way beyond what’s expected for their age. Having time out to be a child makes such a difference, and they really look forward to our activity programme.”
