A 29-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged attempted robbery at a shop in Elgin today.
Officers were alerted to an incident at around 7.15am at a premises in the Glen Moray Drive area.
They traced a man very shortly after in connection with the incident and was arrested.
Detective Inspector Norman Stevenson said: “Thanks to information provided by those at the scene and their quick response and actions, local officers were able to act extremely quickly to arrest a man in connection.
“No one was injured nor was anything taken however it would have obviously been a frightening experience for those involved. Incidents of this nature in Elgin – let alone Moray – are extremely rare and will certainly not be tolerated.”
