A marathon with a special Speyside twist attracted international visitors on Saturday as over a thousand people took part in the second annual Dramathon.
Competitors were treated to a scenic route for the main marathon from Glenfarclas distillery in Ballindalloch to Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown, with a free dram at the end.
There were also smaller running trails on offer with half marathon, 10K and relay options.
Each route passed by several distilleries along the way and and gave runners a different whisky experience before they were able to collect a goody bag containing a corresponding miniature dram depending on where you ran through.
It was the second year of the unique, traditionally Scottish event and one of the organisers, Ian King was pleased with how it all unfolded.
He said: “It was fantastic to have 1,600 runners taking part and to have fantastic weather which only added to the great, happy and relaxed atmosphere of the day.
“We doubled the numbers we got last year and I’m actually surprised about how successful the event was although it is a cross between two things that people seem to love, whisky and running.

“We sold out all four events several months ago and we had a guest Japanese distillery Chichibu who helped to sponsor it and the owner and founder ran as well.”
The event attracted about 3,000 people to the area which was a big boost to the distilleries during one of their quieter months.
Mr King and co-organiser Jon Dunderdale initially came up with the idea after having a few drams themselves and being inspired by a French running event where competitors drink wine and then take part in a marathon.
Called the Medoc Marathon, it takes place every year in Bordeaux with visitors from all over the world dressing up, drinking wine and running through the vineyards in the south of France.
Mr King is looking forward to the event taking place next year already.
He said: “Next year, we will do the same thing and decide whether we want to expand it.
“I would like to keep it smallish so it keeps a friendly and fun atmosphere and allows people to meet up and chat throughout.”
