Work is continuing at a Moray nursery to ensure the whole building can be used to best effect.
Lady Cathcart in Buckie was reopened earlier this year following a £672,000 refurbishment funded by the Scottish Government.
Space has been created for up to 50 children to receive care in the building that is a former school.
Yesterday, Moray Council’s children’s and young people’s committee was told that work is continuing on the first floor to create more space for families.
Buckie councillor Tim Eagle said: “There are several rooms upstairs which would be ideal in offering a range of activities, services and an information point.
“Whilst services have not yet been set in stone, there is potential to include information and support on all aspects of education, physical and mental health and parenting and families support.”
