He was rushed to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin by ambulance but sadly passed away yesterday morning. Mr Stephen worked at the Anderson and England furniture store in the town for many years and almost never missed a game at Borough Briggs. Elgin City FC chairman Graham Tatters paid tribute to the long-standing supporter. He said: “He was just a really good supporter of Elgin City and very rarely missed a game. “I want to offer my condolences and respects to his family at this time on behalf of the club.” A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed a crew was called to a medical incident on Saturday at the Elgin City stadium. He said: “We received a call at 1550 hours on Saturday December 8 to attend an incident at Borough Briggs Football Stadium. “We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported a male in his 70s to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin.” Elgin City won the game against Albion Rover 4-2.
