A Moray composer has won an award at a national competition.
Lila Senior’s orchestral composition The Summer Isles won the instrumental category at the UK Songwriting Contest.
The awards ceremony attracts entries from across the world and is now in its 16th year.
Mrs Senior, a classically trained violinist and pianist, from Dunphail near Forres, credited the natural landscape in the north of Scotland for inspiring her winning composition.
She said: “The music reflects the striking beauty and ever-changing elements of the west-coast Highlands.
“It speaks of stunning seascapes, vibrant landscapes and ever-changing patchwork skies as well as the shifting sunlight, sparkling seas and open moorlands.
“I love the wild places of Scotland and being out walking in the elements will always be a great source of creative inspiration for me.”
