The legacy of an Elgin teenager who died on Christmas Day last year has been celebrated on a festive greetings card.
Moray MSP Richard Lochhead tasked primary school children across the region with drawing up glittering designs to remember Abbie Main.
Yesterday, the drawing by Greenwards Primary School pupil Jess Pick was chosen to feature on the front of Mr Lochhead’s annual Christmas card.
Money raised from the festive messages sent out by the MSP will be donated to Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation, which was established by the energetic 15-year-old before she lost her battle with cancer.
Jess said: “I wanted to include lots of sparkles to represent Abbie.”
The winning entry was chosen by Abbie’s mum, Tammy.
Mr Lochhead said: “Jess’ card captured the spirit of the theme of the competition, which was Christmas sparkle.
“We were overwhelmed with entries and it was nice to see that so many of the pupils were clearly touched by Abbie’s story due to the amount of designs that were full of sparkle.”
