Police and paramedics have been called to a Moray road after a “serious” rush hour collision involving five vehicles.
Air ambulance paramedics are among the emergency services who have been called to a stretch of the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road at Forres.
Following the collision, at about 5pm, a chunk of the trunk route between the Forres Enterprise Park and the roundabout leading to Findhorn was sealed off.
A police spokesman confirmed that the force was alerted to the crash by the ambulance service.
He added: “It is too early to comment on the injuries suffered but there were five cars involved.
“It seems quite serious at the moment.”
A spokeswoman for the fire service confirmed that crews from Forres and Elgin attended but were only required to clear up debris and left shortly before 6pm.
