Extra time has been allowed for Moray residents to suggest a name for a new housing complex.
Hanover Housing Association is developing a 44-home development near the site of the former Spynie Hospital in Elgin.
Suggestions already put forward for the project include Bishop’s View as a reference to Spynie Palace, which was the ancient set of bishops in Moray, Spynie Heights and The Quarrels after nearby Quarrel Wood.
The deadline for suggestions, which should reflect the history, culture and heritage of the local area, has now been extended to March 30.
The project, which is being developed with Health and Social Care Moray and the Scottish Government and being built by Robertson, will include 12 two-bedroom flats, two two-bedroom cottages, 25 two-bedroom extra care flats and five two-bedroom extra care wheelchair accessible flats.
Adam Curry, director of organisational services at Hanover Housing Association, said: “We have enjoyed reading all the names people in the local community have suggested so far for our new Spynie development.
“Our first residents will arrive at the Spynie development later this year and we want their new homes to have a name that reflects their surrounding area.”
Name suggestions for the development should be e-mailed to communications@hanover.scot
