Thirty new council homes are to be built in Mosstodloch in an effort to boost the number of affordable homes available.
Springfield Properties are constructing the homes as part of the first phase of development at Stynie Road,.
That should eventually comprise 76 properties.
The development consists of four semi-detached two-bedroom houses, eight terraced one-bedroom flats, eight terraced two-bedroom houses and a variety of three or four-bedroom semi-detached homes.
Springfield Properties will also contribute towards a replacement medical centre in Fochabers.
Chairman of Moray Council’s planning and regulatory services committee, David Bremner, said “It’s very welcome to see these affordable homes being built locally.
“With more than 3,500 applicants on our waiting list for housing, we’re making good progress against our target of providing 70 units of high-quality accommodation each year for our residents.”
