A woman has died and a man is seriously injured following a two-vehicle accident on the A96 between Inverness and Forres today.
It happened at around 6am near Brodie Countryfare. The injured man was taken to hospital by helicopter.
A silver pick-up truck and a small grey car were the vehicles involved.
Road policing sergeant Scott Deans said: “Our inquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would continue to urge anyone who witnessed what happened but has not yet spoken to the police to please get in touch by calling 101 or speak to a police officer, quoting reference number 1012 of the 28th April.”
The road was closed for more than 10 hours before it re-opened in both directions at around 4pm.
