Firefighters who tackled a huge wildfire in Moray have given back to the community in another way – donating food to two local charities.
Staff at Asda in Elgin provided food and drink to crews who worked for four days to extinguish the blaze at Knockando.
However, with some supplies left over, the fire service donated those items to Moray Foodbank and Aberlour Options.
Moray Foodbank posted on social media about their gratitude towards the emergency services for all their help stating: “After successfully controlling the recent local wildfires they were kind enough to pass on some of their own donations given to them by Asda which were no longer needed.
“A huge thank you not only for the donation but also for all the hard work you do keeping our communities safe.”
The items included bottles of water and juice, Easter eggs and fruit.
