A Moray woman has helped raise more than £3,700 for an Aberdeen children’s charity.
Nicola McLellan from Elgin ran the London Marathon a few weeks ago for the Archie Foundation after being helped massively by them when her son Lyle was in hospital.
She achieved a time of four hours and 29 minutes during the race and was cheered over the finishing line by her loved ones.
After finishing the marathon, she paid tribute to the Archie Foundation online and said: “It is very close to my family’s hearts.
“Our little boy Lyle was born in 2016 with a rare bowel disease so we spend a huge amount of time in Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.”
“The foundation helped us by allowing our family to stay together and putting my husband and young daughter up in their family accommodation.
“Having been in the hospital for long periods of time, I’ve seen first hand just how much Archie puts into making all the unwell children smile.
“The smallest things mean all the difference to the children that are unwell.”
