A north-east music group has organised a concert to help raise money for a cancer charity.
Moray Concert Brass is hosting a Music in the Marquee event in Elgin’s Cooper Park on Saturday to support Friends of Anchor.
Special guests have also been lined up to join the group to help the cause, which also supports oncology and haematology patients across the north-east.
Meanwhile, a series of concerts have been lined up by the band during June to showcase the range of talent that exists locally.
Musical director Glenn Munro, who has battled cancer himself, said: “These concerts are a way for our young musicians to showcase their talents while also giving something back to their communities.
“The band has been working incredibly hard all year and we now want to give everyone an opportunity to enjoy some great nights out, both at our concerts and the fun packed race night.”
The Cooper Park event will be held in a marquee next to the cricket pavilion at 7.30pm on Saturday.
The following week the group will host a race night at Elgin Bowling Club on Saturday, June 8 from 7pm. Entry £4.
On Friday, June 14, the group will present an evening of film tunes and pop songs at Elgin Town Hall from 7pm. Admission £8, concessions £6.
The month will be rounded off with the return of the popular School’s Out concert at Elgin Town Hall on Friday, June 28 at 7pm, which will feature a range of music to celebrate the start of the summer holidays. Admission £8, concessions £6.
Tickets for all events will be available at the door.
