Police in Moray are continuing to try and establish what happened to a man who was found lying on a pavement with a severe head injury.
The man, who is in his 20s, was discovered with a severe head injury on Reiket Lane in Elgin near the railway bridge nearly two weeks ago on Sunday, May 19.
Officers suspect the person may have been hurt in a hit-and-run. One person who provided aid at the scene said the man appeared as if he had been “left for dead”.
Yesterday, police confirmed inquiries were still continuing to establish what had happened.
The casualty was rushed to Dr Gray’s Hospital after he was found but his injuries were not life-threatening.
Officers investigating the incident have gone door-to-door to speak to locals about the incident while also reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
Police have appealed for anyone who saw a man in his 20s wearing a maroon top, blue jeans and black boots in the area at about 8.20pm to get in touch.
Anyone with information should contact police by calling 101.
