Plans have been lodged to transform a vacant building in a Speyside village into a new £200,000 pharmacy.
Parklands Care Homes has lodged proposals to relocate its existing business, which employs eight members of staff on Aberlour High Street to the empty space – with work expected to begin before the end of the summer.
The business took over Aberlour Pharmacy last year, which now supplies its eight care homes and runs a delivery service for people who live in the surrounding countryside.
Ron Taylor, managing director of the firm, said: “Aberlour Pharmacy provides a vital service for the community and for Parklands’ care homes.
“The new building will give us capacity to expand the business and deliver a better service to local customers, and our growing network of care homes.”
The new pharmacy will feature a slate roof and a facade consisting of Scottish larch.
