Cyclist dies following incident on Moray road

A 79-year-old male cyclist has died following an incident on the B9040 road between Hopeman and Lossiemouth at the weekend.

Emergency services attended the area yesterday at around 11.30am and the man was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, where he later died.

Local Sergeant Mark Bayliss said: “His family has been informed and our thoughts are with them at this very sad time.

“Thank you to all motorists for your patience while enquiries were carried out at the scene yesterday.”
