Staff at a Moray school have been praised for creative a positive atmosphere for pupils.
Inspectors visited Cluny Primary School in April to assess the standards of teaching in the Buckie classrooms.
Yesterday a report was published that graded the learning, teaching and assessment as well as efforts to raise attainment among pupils as “good”.
Inspector Ann Floyd praised the head teacher for creative a “positive culture” within the school as well as an environment in which children enjoyed working together.
Areas for improvement included encouraging staff to develop more opportunities for pupils to lead their own learning through clubs and activities while creating classes that challenge children more.
Sonya Warren, chairwoman of Moray Council’s children and young people’s committee, praised staff for the positive inspection.
She said: “Of course this is only a snapshot of the high-quality teaching and learning which happens every day at Cluny Primary, but I’m pleased to see inspectors noting how well the staff work together to create a productive and enjoyable learning environment for the children who attend the school.”
