Owners of classic cars and motorbikes are being encouraged to attend an annual north-east fundraiser at the weekend and help fight cancer.

The sixth Clan Cancer Support cavalcade will leave Threaplands, near Lhanbryde, before touring some of the area’s stunning countryside.

More than 20 vehicles, including a Ferrari, Aston Martin and a Morris Minor, have already been entered in the annual run.

This year’s route will visit some of Moray’s most famous food restaurants and producers, including Cluny Fish in Buckie, Walkers Shortbread in Aberlour and Woodside Farm and Shop in Kinloss before finishing at the Sunninghill Hotel in Elgin.

Organiser Tracey Sellar said: “We have had 23 vehicles enter already but we’ve still got space for a few more.”

A minimum of £35 sponsorship is required to enter the cavalcade, which will raise money for Clan Cancer Support. Participants are required to pay for their own meals.

The charity, which has a base on Elgin High Street, offers support and information to those fighting cancer as well as their family members.

For more information about the cavalcade, contact Clan by calling 01343 544132 or visit the website www.clanhouse.org.
