Police last night returned to the scene of a sexual assault in Elgin as investigations into the attack continued.
Officers scoured Doocot Park between 11pm and 1am, exactly a week on from when the 33-year-old woman involved was targeted in an area near North Street.
She was uninjured but “shaken” by the incident.
Inquiries have continued throughout the week, with additional patrols carried out in the area to reassure locals.
Officers leading the investigation are following a positive line of inquiry but continue to appeal for anyone with information to get in touch, particularly with any information relating to the hours between 11pm last Thursday night and 1.30am on Friday morning.
A man officers would like to speak to is described as being in his 20s, of a slim build, about 5ft 7″ to 6ft in height and was wearing a black hooded top at the time.
He was last seen walking into Doocot Park.
Detective Inspector David Howieson said: “Numerous people have assisted with our inquiries so far and I would like to thank them once again for their help.
“I appreciate that, at the time of night this incident happened, the area would have been quiet.
“However I hope that by revisiting the scene one week on we can keep the appeal fresh in people’s minds and carry out further timely inquiries.
“Please be assured that extensive inquiries continue to identify the man responsible.”
People should call 101 with any information which could help the investigation.
