An emergency road closure on a Moray street following a house fire will now be extended for a further six weeks.
A bungalow was nearly destroyed on Mitchell Crescent in Elgin on July 9 which left the home on the brink of collapse.
Fire fighters rescued a vulnerable woman from the house unhurt during the emergency response.
A road closure near Elm Cottage was initially put in place by Moray Council for five days following the incident, which caused substantial structural damage.
Yesterday, the authority extended the closure until Tuesday, August 27 due to the “dangerous building”, and said it was required in the interests of public safety.
It is believed that sections of the Bishopmill building are in danger of falling down following checks by engineers.
Six fire appliances were involved in the emergency response to the building while crews battled the flames for about four hours.
Moray Council has advised drivers to use neighbouring streets in the area while the closure remains in place.
