A new production company in Moray hoping to attract some of the country’s finest stars has kick-started its first series of concerts with a jazz night.
Award-winning Scottish pianist Euan Stevenson and bass player Brian Sheils performed a selection of well-known hits and classics as well as original compositions during the event at Elgin’s Mansefield Hotel.
The concert was the first to be organised by Forte Productions, which grew from the festive Let it Snow extravaganzas in an attempt to bring more top music talent to the area.

It is also hoped that the group will provide an educational resource for local schools and community groups.
Ryan MacKenzie, Forte’s artistic director, said: “I’m so grateful that Euan and Brian took time to come up to Moray in amongst their hectic Edinburgh Jazz festival schedules.
“It was incredible exciting to see our local audience supporting us and coming out to a superb venue to enjoy some of the best music the country has to offer.”
Moray MSP Richard Lochhead, who attended the concert, said: “The arrival of this new company is a huge boost for cultural life in Moray and means the local community can enjoy hearing top quality musicians and performers on our own doorstep.”
