Emergency crews were called to the A96 Elgin-Fochabers, near Lhanbryde, at around 3.45pm. A van and two cars crashed at the roundabout near the Threaplands Garden Centre. Three fire engines and a heavy rescue unit from Inverness, with specialist equipment to deal with crashes, were rushed to the scene. Crews cut the roof off of one of the cars to help the woman escape. A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “We used cutting equipment to remove the roof of one of the vehicles. “We passed a female casualty into the care of ambulance staff. “The stop message came back to the control room by 4.4opm.” Police closed the road for more than an hour. A spokesman confirmed no one had been seriously injured.
