Concern for a paddleboarder on the Moray coast prompted an emergency response this afternoon.
A concerned member of the public thought they had seen the person in difficulty in the water and raised the alarm with the coastguard.
Burghead coastguard rescue team and Buckie’s RNLI lifeboat were sent out in response to the 999 call, made at around 3.30pm.
But the paddleboarder had been able to safely get back to the shore and said they had not been in any danger.
A coastguard spokeswoman said: “At around 3.30pm today we received a 999 call from a member of the public to report a paddleboarder possibly in difficulty in the water near Hopeman Harbour.
“Burghead coastguard rescue team and Buckie RNLI inshore lifeboat were sent to the scene to assist.
“The person was subsequently located safe and well on land and was confirmed to not have been in difficulty.”
