A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle on the A96 in Elgin. The road was closed in both directions between the Pansport Road roundabout and Victoria Crescent, on the east side of the town. The man suffered a head injury but a police spokesman said at 1.30pm it is not thought to be life-threatening. The accident happened at around 11.05am today. Traffic has been significantly disrupted in Elgin as a result, with long queues reported. The spokesman added: “This incident is ongoing and we are still at the scene.” The road re-opened at around 2pm.
