Moray charity Logan’s Fund will be mark its 10th anniversary this weekend.
The children’s cancer charity was set up in memory of three-year-old Logan Main from Lossiemouth who died of neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, in 2009.
The charity provides support for children and their families affected by cancer, such as special days out and respite trips at both home and abroad.
This Sunday Logan’s Family Fun Day will be held at Lossiemouth Playing Fields to mark 10 years of the charity.
The event begins at noon and is free to enter.
There is an accompanying car boot sale starting at 10am, as well as various family friendly entertainment such as singer Jada Louise and kickboxing group Sfear.
There will be a variety of inflatables and fair rides for children as well as charity and craft stalls to interest grown-ups.
Cameron Mackintosh, Logan’s Fund chairman, said: “The event was actually in doubt this week due to a close family bereavement that affected all of the organising team but we decided to continue with it as best we could under difficult circumstances.
“It does mean that some of the Logan’s Fund regular features at the event are having to be scaled back this year but we hope everyone who comes has a great day even if some of their favourite features are missing.
“When we decided to host our first fun day 10 years ago it was never meant to be an annual event.
“We intended it to be a small one-off thank you to the Lossiemouth and wider community who supported Logan’s family in their efforts to get him to the USA for treatment.
“A journey he never made in the end.
“But here we are 10 years later with the event circled on calendars for miles around and still getting fantastic public support.
If the people didn’t come then we wouldn’t still be doing it so we are thrilled that the event is still as popular as it ever was.”
