National Lottery funding will help secure the future of a community pool in Moray.
Fears were raised last year that the days of youngsters splashing in Portknockie’s bright blue basin could be over due to a leak and other wear and tear.
Campaigners Donna Coull, Lillian Urquhart and Kirsty Farquhar have already raised £28,000 to fund the repairs needed to ensure future generations can continue to enjoy it.
Now the group has been given a further boost by securing a grant of £3,480 from the Big Lottery Fund.
The cash has been awarded to help the locals buy maintenance equipment and to improve the area around the pool with a new barbecue area as well as new signs and bins.
Other lottery awards for Moray groups include £9,500 for the Sunshine Developmental Playgroup, which helps children with additional support needs in Keith, to help cover staff costs.
A further grant of £4,730 has been awarded to Made (Moray Arts Development Engagement) to run seven creative projects across the region to be displayed in their gallery, which is a converted phone box in Alves.
