The Coastguard was alerted at 10.55am to a person in trouble in the sea near to Buckpool. The person was said to have been in an inflatable kayak. The conditions were described as windy. The Buckie RNLI lifeboat and the Buckie Coastguard team were both sent to the aid of the kayaker. The person was eventually traced, as they got to safety on the shore near Buckie at 11.40am. A spokesman for the Coastguard said: “We were called at 10.55am to a person in an inflatable kayak in difficulty near to Buckpool. “We were told the kayak was heading towards Buckie. “We tasked RNLI Buckie, and the Coastguard team to aid the person. “When we arrived the person had made it safely ashore. Medics checked them over – all was safe and well.”
