Two children have been reported after an alleged vandalism spree at a Moray primary school.
Windows were smashed during the daylight incident at New Elgin Primary School with eggs and flour alleged to have been thrown at the building.
Extensive damage was caused to classrooms and the reception with broken glass being spread around the area.
Yesterday police revealed that two youngsters – both primary school age – have been reported in connection with the alleged malicious mischief offence.
Officers were called to the incident, which happened between 2pm-4.30pm on Sunday.
School staff cleaned and cleared the affected areas to ensure that pupils were able to attend classes as normal yesterday.
A police spokesman said: “As a result of inquiries carried out by officers, two youths have been referred to the early and effective interventions co-ordinator.”
