Graham Angus has completed a gruelling 14-day walk across Scotland for ENABLE Scotland and in memory of his mother-in-law.
The Aberdeen resident embarked on his 187-mile journey in Kelvingrove in Glasgow before travelling along the West Highland Way and Great Glen Way in just a fortnight.
During his travels, Mr Angus tackled the daunting off-road route from Glencoe to Kinlochleven – the Devil’s Staircase – prior to completing his walk in Inverness.
He has already raised more than £600 for ENABLE Scotland, a charity which campaigns for equality for people with learning disabilities.
He decided to embark on the challenge in memory of his mother-in-law, Morven Wood, who was a long-serving campaigner for the charity’s Elgin branch.
He was determined to continue her work raising awareness and funds for the charity, so they have the means to continue to support his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Kate Wood, and others with learning disabilities.
Mr Angus said: “It was a privilege to walk across Scotland and raise money for an organisation that works to support the rights of people with learning disabilities.”
“The money raised will be crucial to supporting such efforts and I hope my journey will ensure people continue to deliver support to ensure people with learning disabilities can be active members of our society.”
