Frank Kinnis, from Elgin, died after an alleged attack in Birkenhill Woods south of the town on Monday. Today David Johnstone, from Elgin, has been charged with murder during an appearance at Elgin Sheriff Court. The 35-year-old also faces two further charges of attempted murder and two accusations of assaulting or impeding police officers. Two 70-year-olds remain in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in the alleged incident. Johnstone, who made no plea, has been remanded in custody.
