A man is in the care of ambulance crews after being trapped for more than an hour after the crane he was operating toppled over.
The A96 between Alves and the B9013 Burghead road was closed following the incident.
Emergency services were called shortly after 10am this morning, with fire crews using hydraulic rescue gear, strops and a short extension ladder to free the man from the compartment.
The man was checked over by the ambulance crews but there were no injuries.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “Two appliances were mobilised to attend to an incident on the A96 between Elgin and Forres where a crane has turned over.
“We received a call from police at 10.20am and we have mobilised the heavy rescue unit from Inverness and one appliance from Forres.”
A police spokesman said: “We were called at 10.15am to the A96 between Alves and Elgin. A mobile crane has fallen.”
The road has reopened and traffic is beginning to ease.
