Elgin motorists, who were Christmas shopping yesterday, found themselves being held up on Station Road, following a dramatic crash in Lidl’s car park.
The incident occurred in the far corner of the local supermarket’s car park which looks on to Elgin train station.
Police Scotland has confirmed that, at around 11am, there was a one-vehicle crash which involved a car colliding with the lamppost and Lidl sign before going into the fence that surrounds the perimeter of the car park.
Both the driver and the passenger were believed to be uninjured.
Police Scotland said that although there was no obstruction, enquiries were ongoing.
The police, in addition to two fire engines, arrived at the scene as the prelude to the car being uplifted from the location.
