A fire crew and a police unit attended the scene of a car which was found ablaze yesterday.
Newmills Road in Elgin, opposite the Johnston Cashmere Premises, was temporarily blocked after emergency services were called to the area to deal with the incident.
A Fire and Rescue services spokeswoman confirmed that they had received a report of a car on fire at the location at 1.50pm.
One fire unit was quickly on the scene where they reported that the fire had been extinguished at 2.20pm.
The firemen used two breathing apparatuses, cutting gear and one hose and reel during the blaze which resulted in the Fiat Punto being destroyed.
A Police Scotland spokesman further confirmed that they had been alerted to the car, which was black in colour, being on fire at 1.54pm.
