A new nursery is poised to open in a Moray town later this year with capacity for up to 65 children.
Construction is already under way on the new facility, which will be run by charity Flexible Childcare Services Scotland (FCSS), in the grounds of Keith Grammar School.
Now the operator has revealed that the custom-built site is expected to welcome its first youngsters through the door in August.
The charity has promised dedicated areas for children to develop their literacy and numeracy skills with construction play spaces, a home corner, quiet areas, writing tables, eco-friendly areas and messy play.
Fiona Ednie, manager at the new nursery, hopes the centre will become a valued part of town life.
She said: “We are looking forward to this exciting opportunity to be part of the Keith community and offer the children and families a welcoming and inclusive centre, flexible enough to meet everyone’s needs.”
FCSS has been formed to challenge concerns about the “inflexibility” of the current childcare provision across the country with day care available to be booked by the hour without any up-front costs or deposits.
The new nursery will be open to all children, including those with additional support needs.
Sessions for parents to enrol children in the nursery will be held at Keith Community Centre on January 20, 22, 28 and 30.
