A Moray singing group is hoping to expand its ranks upon returning home after spending years rehearsing out of town.
Forres Big Choir formed in 2004 at St John’s Church in the town, but members found themselves in the unlikely situation of having to practise in Kinloss when the group grew too big for the building in 2012.
However, the choir has once again grown in size – and as enough members to justify a new move to a larger space, at St Leonard’s Church Hall in Forres.
The space was used by the now-defunct Culbin Singers group for 48 years, and only recently became available.
Bill Henderson, co-founder and musical director of the choir, said: “Kinloss has been a great place for us to meet and has served us very well.
“It does now feel right though that the Forres Big Choir should be meeting back in Forres, and it somehow feels right that we are talking over the hall where the Culbin Singers met for so many years.”
The choir will meet every Thursday with their first in the new location on January 16.
The Forres Big Choir has also invited new singers to join them this year.
As they are a community choir, there are no auditions and beginners to music are welcome as songs are taught by ear.
Mr Henderson added: “Many of the choir describe it as a second family.”
