A major overnight resurfacing project will be underway next week on a section of the A96 in Keith.
The improvements to the road surface will cost £155,000 and aim to fix defects in a section of carriageway between Seafield Park and the town’s Tesco junction.
The extensive resurfacing will begin on Monday and will run for five nights, between 7.30pm and 6.30am.
Bear Scotland hopes to have the work completed by the morning of Saturday, January 25.
No works are to take place over the weekend.
North East representative Andy Thompson said: “These £155,000 surfacing improvements will greatly improve and strengthen this section of the A96.
“They will also create a smoother and safer journey for motorists who use the road.
“In an effort to reduce disruption for drivers in their daily commute, the decision was made for the road works to be carried overnight.
“We will also remove all traffic management during the day to further minimise any inconvenience that could be caused for motorists who travel along this route.”
Bear Scotland is encouraging motorists using the road to plan journeys in advance and allow some extra time for travel during the works.
Mr Thompson added: “We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out these essential works on the A96.”
