Students at a Moray school have been entertained by a spectacular lion dance performance to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Performers from the Glasgow Hong Lok Dragon and Lion Dancing Troupe staged the theatrical performance in front of more than 100 pupils from Gordonstoun.
Celebrations were held across the world at the weekend to mark the beginning of the year of the rat.
But yesterday the students got to sample the festivities for themselves with the group performing a new year blessing to a drum beat in the school’s famous Round Square courtyard that enthralled the audience.
Lion dancing is one of the most colourful traditions of Chinese New Year with the colourful display supposed to bring prosperity and good luck as well as creating a carnival atmosphere.
