Proposals have been be put forward to reverse a decision to downgrade two gritting routes in Moray.
Concerns have been raised about the move to remove the Dallas to Knockando high-level road from the top priority grade this winter.
Speyside Glenlivet councillor Derek Ross said children using the route to get to school had been placed at “considerable danger” due to its condition this week.
Now Moray Council’s administration has put forward plans to restore the road and a section near Rothiemay to the top priority.
Speyside Glenlivet councillor Louise Laing said: “This was a particularly challenging decision at the time but with the new routes now settling down we have been working constructively with our roads team to see what could be achieved without breaking the bank.”
Councillors will debate the proposals on February 12.
