A woman was taken to hospital after being assaulted at a bus stop in Lhanbryde yesterday.
The incident happened on St Andrew’s Road in the village at around 10.30am on Tuesday morning after another woman, who had been a passenger in a car, stopped nearby.
The 23-year-old victim was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, where she was treated for serious injuries.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward following the attack.
Sergeant Phil Wu, from the Divisional Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit, said: “This assault has resulted in significant injury requiring medical treatment for the victim and we are keen speak to anyone who would have been in the area nearby, around the time it took place.
“If you live in the area and potentially have CCTV, we would also be grateful if you could check your footage and get in touch with us.”
