Former hospital manager takes up new role at Moray care home

A former manager of Moray’s biggest hospital has been appointed as the head of a care home.

Issie Graham trained as a physiotherapist and spent 35 years working in the NHS before retiring from the post at Dr Gray’s Hospital in 2011.

Now the Elgin native has been appointed as the new chairwoman of Anderson’s Care Home’s board of governors in her home town.

She steps up from the post of vice-chairwoman to succeed Dr David Evans, who has resigned as chairman after five years in the role.

He said: “It’s been a privilege to work with such a dedicated team of managers, carers and support staff.

“Everyone has played a part in raising standards of care for our residents and protecting the legacy of our founder, General Anderson.

“However, I am not disappearing and I will still be involved with Anderson’s.”

Iain Jamieson, who has spent 27 years working in education and was a founding director of charity Outfit Moray, has been appointed as vice-chairman.
