Two of the most popular bands in Scottish traditional music will travel to Moray this year as part of a series of concerts to promote the genre.
The Arc Sessions was established in Fochabers five years ago to celebrate the village’s affinity with song while encouraging a new generation of talent.
Since then, world famous acts have performed at the refurbished Public Institute to packed audiences.
Now organisers have unveiled the schedule for 2020 – including a May date for Skerryvore, who are celebrating their 15th year, and a September gig from Rura, who are marking the 10th anniversary of their formation.
The performances begin on March 7 with a Scottish fiddle legends event featuring Gordon Gunn, Paul Anderson, Patsy Reid and Gregor Borland.
Old Bling Dogs will take to the stage in April after previously appearing three years ago and Fara will perform in June.
The series will conclude with Talisk on October 31 and a Hogmanay ceilidh featuring the Skara ceilidh band.
Local talent will feature on the nights too to give the next generation of performers experience of playing on stage.
Organiser Mhairi Marwick said: “It’s going to be a brilliant year of Scottish music. The Scotland’s Fiddle Legends concert brings together players from different parts with unique styles.
“I’m absolutely delighted with the programme and hope these concerts will attract audiences from near and far.”
