A spokeswoman for the fire service confirmed that crews from Elgin and Fochabers used two hose reel jets to douse the flames at the outbuildings, and said that the matter was under control just after 8pm.
She also confirmed that there were no injuries as a result of the blaze.
A police spokesman confirmed that officers were requested to attend the incident by the fire service just after 6pm.
The incident took place at a property along the northbound carriageway through the village, close to its filling station.
Stagecoach announced on social media that it would be “unable to serve Mosstodloch” due to the fire, and apologised to customers for any inconvenience.
A statement posted online said: “The road has been closed and is expected to remain closed for some time.
“The nearest bus stop served will be at the Baxters factory to the east of the village.”
