John Laughrie was last seen at his home in Findochty on Sunday afternoon.
Police found the 51-year-old’s grey Ford Ranger truck parked in the village’s Church Street.
Today coastguard teams carried out further searches through the village and along the coastline.
Inspector Michael McKenzie of Buckie Community Policing Team said previously: “Thank you to everyone who has contacted us so far with information relating to John’s whereabouts.
“As time passes without any contact, concern is growing for his wellbeing and safety.
“I would ask locals, particularly those in Findochty, to please check gardens and outbuildings while searches continue in the area. Officers are being assisted by colleagues from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.”
He is described as 5ft 11ins, of medium build with brown hair and wears glasses on occasion.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.
